Manchester City and Liverpool played out a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium in the biggest game of the season, sharing a point each. The defending champions retain their point advantage over Liverpool, and now need to defend their advantage over the next month and a half to win the title.

Liverpool were extremely shaky in the first half, especially following Kevin De Bruyne’s opening goal. The Belgian’s shot took a massive deflection before ending up in the back of the net. But, Diogo Jota equalised at the other end shortly after.

Liverpool and Manchester City finish level in title decider.

Jurgen Klopp’s men came out a much better side in the second half, and leveled things up with Sadio Mane scoring the goal quickly after the restart.

The intensity from the first half faded out as the two teams became more stable in the game. Raheem Sterling managed to score a goal against his former team, but it was ruled out after VAR judged him marginally offside.

Riyad Mahrez had a great chance to win the game for his side late. But, his chipped shot was too high and didn’t trouble Alisson, who came off his line to meet the Algerian.

The title race remains the same following the big clash between the two best sides in the country. And now, it remains to be seen how the two can proceed with the last seven games of the season.
