Manchester City are in the finals of the 2024 FA Cup, defeating Chelsea 1-0 in the semifinals at Wembley Stadium. Bernardo Silva scored the winning goal again, adding to his tally of his deflected goals in the tournament. The Portuguese made up for his take penalty in midweek against Real Madrid with the match winner this time around.

Chelsea, on the other hand, had numerous chances in the game just like they did against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final. Once again, Nicolas Jackson was extremely wasteful in front of goal and was unable to convert any of his chances.

Erling Haaland was not even on the bench for the game after suffering an injury in the game against Madrid. However, Manchester City remained threatening, with Julian Alvarez leading the line and Kevin De Bruyne playing behind him.

Cole Palmer was very effective in terms of creating chances, setting up Jackson several times in the game. However, he was tightly marked and could barely take a shot himself. Chelsea could have had a penalty for a Jack Grealish handball after a free-kick in the second half, but the referee waived it off.

In the end, it was the same story again for Chelsea, with wastefulness in front of goal costing them a big match once again. City, on the other hand, will be proud to have earned a hard fought win after their Champions League exit in midweek.
