Manchester United have decided to sell James Garner by the end of the transfer window. The youngster has a contract with the club until 2024, but could be on his way out in the coming days.
The youngster spent the 21/22 season on loan at Nottingham Forest, and was quite impressive, helping them earn promotion back to the top flight. And despite the sorry state of Manchester United’s midfield, he hasn’t been given a chance under Erik Ten Hag. This has fuelled the transfer speculation surrounding him, with Spurs and Nottingham Forest being closely linked with his signature.
James Garner could leave Manchester United soon
Erik Ten Hag is open to letting the player go. And United only want a fee around £14 million for the 21-year-old to be sold. His agents are currently working on securing a move away, as it looks unlikely that he will be given a chance in the first team.
The academy graduate was given a chance by Jose Mourinho, who used him in pre-season of their 2018 USA tour. James Garner was given his first team debut by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2019, and has since made seven appearances.
The arrival of Adrien Rabiot will further limit chances for the youngster, despite Fred and Scott McTominay struggling to perform. For fans that highly rate the player, it will be seen as a decision that could backfire in the coming years.
