Manchester United have released an official statement in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s two-part interview with Piers Morgan. The forward criticised the club, the management, the young players in the team and the board.

And by the looks of things, his time at Manchester United has been brought to a screeching halt. It is very unlikely that he will play for the Red Devils again, and will possibly be sold, or let go of, during the January transfer window itself.

“Manchester United has this morning initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview. We will not be making further comment until this process reaches its conclusion,” the official statement from the club read.

According to Fabrizio Romano, it seems only a matter of time before he is asked not to come to Carrington training ground again. Moreover, it remains to be seen if any club in the last 16 of the Champions League will sign him during the January transfer window.

As of now, the 37-year-old is preparing to captain Portugal into his fifth World Cup in Qatar. After the spectacle in the Middle East is done with, we will learn about the club future of the striker.
