Major Tournament Hosts from 2025 to 2035

FIFA Club World Cup 2025 – United States

The United States will stage the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in 2025. The tournament will feature 32 teams competing for a staggering $1 billion prize pool.

European powerhouses like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Manchester City will participate, along with South American giants Palmeiras, Fluminense, Flamengo, and Botafogo. However, critics have raised concerns about its timing and questioned FIFA’s decision to expand the competition.

FIFA World Cup 2026 – United States, Canada & Mexico

For the first time in history, three nations— the United States, Canada, and Mexico— will jointly host the FIFA World Cup. This 23rd edition marks another first: an expanded 48-team format.

Matches will take place from June 11 to July 19, with qualifiers already underway. The tournament aims to capitalize on North America’s vast football infrastructure while delivering an unforgettable spectacle.

UEFA European Championship 2028 – United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland

England, Scotland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland will unite to host UEFA Euro 2028. Set to run from June 9 to July 9, the tournament will provide England—finalists in Euro 2024—a golden opportunity to claim their first-ever European Championship title. Meanwhile, the co-hosts aspire to showcase their footballing pedigree while ensuring a seamless event.

Summer Olympics Football Tournament 2028 – United States

The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics will emphasize sustainability by utilizing existing stadiums for football matches. The legendary Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena is expected to host the men’s and women’s semi-finals and finals, marking its third Olympic appearance. Meanwhile, the BMO Stadium in Exposition Park will serve as the venue for lacrosse and flag football competitions.

FIFA World Cup 2030 – Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Uruguay, Argentina & Paraguay

Six nations will collaborate to host the centenary edition of the FIFA World Cup. Spain, Portugal, and Morocco will stage the majority of matches, while Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay will hold select games to commemorate the tournament’s origins.

However, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin has criticized FIFA’s ambition to expand the 2030 World Cup to 64 teams, arguing that it risks diluting the competition’s quality.

UEFA European Championship 2032 – Italy & Turkey

Italy and Turkey will jointly host UEFA Euro 2032, marking a historic partnership. The selection process will finalize ten venues—five from each country—by 2026. Italy’s legendary stadiums, including the San Siro in Milan and the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, are top contenders, while Turkey’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul and Ankara’s New Stadium are expected to feature prominently.

Summer Olympics Football Tournament 2032 – Australia

Brisbane will be the epicenter of the 2032 Summer Olympics, with football matches spread across multiple Australian cities, including Sydney and Melbourne.

However, Football Australia has expressed concerns regarding the limited seating capacities of many proposed venues. The governing body has urged stadium upgrades, emphasizing the need for improved infrastructure to accommodate growing fan interest.

FIFA Women’s World Cup 2035 – United Kingdom

The United Kingdom is set to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2035, marking the first World Cup on British soil since 1966. FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed no other competing bids, virtually securing the UK’s hosting rights. Wembley Stadium is expected to be the tournament’s centerpiece, while the potential new Manchester United stadium—anticipated to hold 100,000 spectators—could also be a premier venue.

The next decade promises a thrilling lineup of international football tournaments across diverse locations, reflecting the sport’s growing global appeal. From North America’s grand stages to Europe’s rich footballing heritage and Australia’s emerging presence, fans can look forward to an exciting chapter in football history. As host nations gear up to deliver unforgettable experiences, the world waits in anticipation for these iconic events.
