Ajay Devgn has confirmed Maidaan Release Date – Everything we know so far in 202$
The first teaser of Ajay Devgn’s new film ‘Maidaan‘, has been released. The production of the film done by Boney Kapoor production dropped on Thursday and it’s indeed quite impressive. Ajay Devgn looks rather different in the teaser for Maidaan. As we know that ‘Bholaa’ is knocking on the door with the teaser of his next ‘Maidaan’ will be out on the same day. The actor shared a new poster along with an announcement on Tuesday.
Ajay delighted his knowledgeable audience on Instagram by sharing a fresh Maidaan poster. In the poster, Ajay is portrayed in a powerful and intense role. Following the image reveal, he expressed, “A single individual. A steadfast conviction. A resolute spirit. Inspired by a real-life account. #Maidaan will ignite the passion of the entire nation. Teaser set to release on 30th March.”
The story film revolves around the life of Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim who managed our national team from 1950 to 1963. He became the key figure of the golden age of Indian football. The teaser begins with an intro to the Indian football team in the 1950s which has qualified for the Olympics only the second time. What stands out about them is how they are playing the ‘greatest game’ barefoot. We are then introduced to broody coach Syed Abdul Rahim played by Ajay.
In 2020, producer Boney Kapoor had to dismantle the film set due to the lockdown imposed to curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. The makers faced a lot of problems this year as well. In May 2021, the set of ‘Maidaan’ was destroyed by Cyclone Tauktae. Gajraj Rao and Boman Irani are also a part of the film. First, the film is slated to be released on June 23, 2023.
On talking about Bholaa, it is an official Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Kaithi. The movie has been styled as the story of a “one-man army, set in one night, fighting a multitude of enemies in various forms, human and otherwise.” The original film revolved around an ex-convict, who decides to meet his daughter for the first time after being released from prison but gets caught in a face-off between police and the drug mafia. Bholaa marks Ajay’s fourth directorial film after U, Me aur Hum in 2008, Shivaay in 2016, and Runwav 34 in 2022. The films also star Deepak Dobriyal, Sanjay Mishra, Vineet Kumar, Gajraj Rao, and Tabu in pivotal roles.
Maidaan: Cast
Ajay is going to portray the role of Syed in the film. Maidaan featured Priyamini, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh. The man behind the directorial of the film is Amit Ravindernath Sharma co-produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios, Maidaan is touted as a sports drama dedicated to the golden years of Indian football. Ajay will be seen essaying the role of the legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who is widely known as the founding father of Indian football.
The film has been delayed a lot due to Covid. Last year, Priyamani talked to HT about the delay. “We finished the shooting sometime back, the entire film is finished, but it had to be shifted. The makers also had to face a lot of difficulties because of Covid, they couldn’t get the crew and the actors to fly down. We followed all protocols…and now looking forward to releasing it. It is going to be a different film. It’s a different take even for Amit Sharma who has directed a film like this and added another feather to his cap,” says the 37-year-old. The music is done by AR Rahman.
Maidaan Release Date
Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film will release the new teaser on 30th March 2023. The franchise has confirmed that the film will hit on 23rd June 2023.
