Borussia Dortmund’s Mahmoud Dahoud was recently in London to complete a medical assessment over a transfer to Brighton. The midfielder is out of contract with the Bundesliga club at the end of the season, and hasn’t agreed to a renewal as of yet.
By the looks of things, he will be moving on to the Premier League, with the Seagulls securing their third signing of the summer. Joao Pedro has already been confirmed for a club record fee, while James Milner is expected to join on a free transfer.
Mahmoud Dahoud completes medical ahead of Brighton transfer
The deal is very advanced, according to Fabrizio Romano, and only the final details need to be sorted out in order to complete the transfer. In all likelihood, he could be the replacement for Alexis Mac Allister, who has been strongly linked with an exit this summer.
The 27-year-old has shown his technical skills on several occasions, but hasn’t been able to break into the starting line-up consistently. During his six years at the club, he has averaged less than a thousand minutes, and has fallen out of favour with Edin Terzic this season. Consistent injuries have also hindered his progress over the last few seasons, denying him a regular spot in the team.
With Mahmoud Dahoud, Jude Bellingham is also expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer with Real Madrid close to signing the youngster.
