Chennaiyin FC have now confirmed the signing of Lukas Brambilla from Cypriot first division team Othellos Athien. The Brazilian was strongly linked with a transfer to the Marina Machans over the last few weeks, and his arrival has now been made official by the ISL club.
Brambilla joins eight other confirmed new players for Owen Coyle in the coming season, with more yet to be announced. In total, the South Indian club has recruited nine players thus far, which is close to a brand new starting eleven.

The 29-year-old is at the peak of his abilities, and is very pacey and technically skilled. This past season, he scored seven goals and provided as many assists in 36 games across all competitions, totalling just over 2,100 minutes on the pitch.
Lukas Brambilla’s contract with Chennaiyin FC is for just one season, as it’ll run out in 2025. Having played extensively across Europe, Brambilla will surely be one to watch on the coming ISL season.
And with a completely overhauled squad, Owen Coyle will be expected to lead Chennaiyin FC towards a title challenge this season. Reinforcements have been added in almost every position, with several notable foreigners and Indian players joining to boost the squad’s quality.
Which position does Brambilla play in?
Attacking midfield.
