Real Madrid and Luka Modric are set to continue together for another season, with the player’s agents working to secure a new deal for the Croatian. They have been certain about a new deal for the midfielder for a long time and are not changing their plans anytime soon.

The 36-year-old has been a vital part of Real’s midfield for the last decade, and will continue to be a part of the midfield trio alongside Kroos and Casemiro that has delivered the best of results for the club.

The veteran midfielder has played 37 games across all competitions this season, and has scored three goals while providing nine assists. His ability to produce moments of brilliance has helped Real Madrid progress to the semi-final of the Champions League, and remain at the top of La Liga.

Luka Modric’s perfect assist for Rodrygo in the second leg of their quarter final against Chelsea helped them back into the tie. And eventually, they were able to get back on track and make it to the next round.

The Croatia captain is keen to lead his country to the 2022 World Cup at the end of the year. As a result, a new contract with Madrid will guarantee the odds of that happening. Modric was named the player of the tournament in 2018, when his country came up short against France in the final. He also went on to win the subsequent Ballon d’Or award.
