Luka Modric has officially extended his contract with Real Madrid till 2025. The Croatian legend was always keen on staying with the Spanish giants, and his renewal has now been made official by the club.
The 2018 Ballon d’or winner is one of the few players to have won six Champions League trophies. And if he can add another to his collection in the coming season, he will be the only other player to have seven to their name alongside Madrid teammate Dani Carvajal.

The 38-year-old will be the club captain in the coming season, but the extent of his role in the team remains to be seen. This past season, his playing time was significantly reduced given the arrival of Jude Bellingham and the presence of Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga in the squad.
With Bellingham more likely to move into the number 10 role now that Kylian Mbappe will be joining the attack, Modric will likely have a more peripheral role. However, his presence in the locker room is truly unique.
The veteran still has a lot to give, if his performances on the pitch are to be examined. Given his incredible fitness and resilience, there is a good chance he could play till 2026 as well.
