According to multiple reports in Europe, Luis Suarez is set to join Italian champions Juventus. He has already agreed on personal terms with Juventus.
Suarez was struggling at FC Barcelona in the last few seasons. Last season he scored 21 goals in 36 appearances for FC Barcelona but much more is expected at Camp Nou from a player of Suarez’s calibre.
Barcelona has already found Suarez’s replacement. They have agreed on terms with Olympique Lyonnais’s striker Memphis Depay.
Luis Suarez joined FC Barcelona in 2014. He has won 13 trophies including 4 La Liga titles and 1 UEFA Champions League trophy in his time in Spain. He is a part of the Treble winning team of FC Barcelona in 2015. The legendary trio of MSN [Messi-Suarez-Neymar] is still a beautiful memory for the football fans.
FC Barcelona’s new manager Ronald Koeman wants to rebuild the team in his new way. He has already announced Luis Suarez is not in his plans for the upcoming season.
Juventus is now considering to sign him to replace Gonzalo Higuain. It has already been reported that Higuain is leaving the club. Luis Suarez can be a perfect replacement for him.
Former Barcelona director Ariedo Braida says that Luis Suarez has Juventus “DNA”. “I’m not surprised about his Barcelona exit because football is about cycles.”
“Even Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid because he felt his time there was over” he said.
“Suarez is a fighter and his battling spirit infects the rest of his teams. He has character and the DNA to play for Juventus and other big clubs. If he is motivated, he’ll be a strong signing even at 33 years of age.”, Braida added.
Braida was asked if the partnership between the Uruguayan striker and Cristiano Ronaldo can thrive in Turin. He answered, “He won’t have problems playing with Ronaldo.”
If Luis Suarez joins Juventus he will be the 14th player to play alongside both Messi and Ronaldo in their career.
