Luis Muriel has agreed to sign for Orlando City in the MLS, ending his time at Atalanta. The striker will leave for a fee of around €2 million, and with the documents signed, he will soon travel to the USA to complete the transfer by going through the medical tests.
This season, he wasn’t as effective for La Dea as he was before, scoring only two goals and providing one assist in 18 Serie A appearances. In the Europa League, he scored four goals in five appearances, albeit only playing for 50% of the minutes available in the group stage.
Luis Muriel to sign for Orlando City in the MLS
The forward signed for Atalanta in 2019 from Sevilla, scoring 68 goals from 184 games across all competitions. For the Basque side, he scored only 13 goals in 65 games. And overall, he has scored 103 goals in 328 games.
Moreover, he has scored eight goals in 45 games for the Colombian national team, embarking on a rather successful career at both club and country level.
With Luis Muriel, Orlando City will receive an experienced and highly skilled striker in the coming days. His time at the highest level will allow Orlando to receive a solid target man who has an eye for the goal, and will be able to convert with the chances he gets in the game.
