Chelsea are on the hunt for a new manager, after the dismissal of Graham Potter. While Julian Nagelsmann has been rumoured as the favourite, Luis Enrique has also emerged as one of the options for Todd Boehly as well.
The former Spain national team manager has been without a job since being relieved of his duties following the 2022 World Cup. And as per Fabrizio Romano, he is keen to get back into management as soon as possible. However, he is waiting for the perfect opportunity to take up.
Luis Enrique on the hunt for new opportunity with long-term project
Romano has indicated that Enrique wants a long-term project to take up with a clear plan. And Chelsea would be a great opportunity for him considering that they are building a project with plenty of young players.
Mauricio Pochettino and Ruben Amorim have also been shortlisted as candidates by the board. And they are going to thoroughly interview all the candidates and take their time before arriving at a final decision.
Luis Enrique has had a trophy-laden record with Barcelona, winning two La Liga titles and a Champions League while maintaining a 61.41% win rate during his time in charge.
Tottenham are also keeping an eye on the Spaniard, including Julian Nagelsmann. However, it remains to be seen which London club can sign Enrique to bring him back to the touchline.
