Liverpool winger Luis Diaz will be out for the next ten games, following a knee injury he sustained in the 3-2 loss to Arsenal. The Colombian completed a scan, and does not require surgery for the issue.
However, he won’t be able to play professionally until after the World Cup. He becomes the latest addition to Liverpool’s injury list, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip also sidelined for the next few games.
Luis Diaz injured after Arsenal defeat
The 25-year-old has been one of the best attackers for Jurgen Klopp’s team this season. He has scored three goals and provided two assists in eight Premier League games for the Reds so far. And this puts him as one of the best forwards for Klopp.
The injury to Luis Diaz will be a huge blow to the already injury-afflicted squad. Diogo Jota could step in for the Colombian, since he has experience of playing all across the forward line.
Darwin Nunez could also be shifted out wide for the team, although he has been mainly deployed in a central role. It now remains to be seen how Klopp will deal with the massive injury issue again. And with important fixtures coming up in the coming weeks, it will be an intense few games for the team before the World Cup.
