Sao Paulo centre-back Lucas Beraldo is all set to sign for PSG in the January transfer window. The defender is set to sign a five-year contract with the French side, as revealed by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Parisians are investing in their future and have identified the Brazilian as a key target for their defence. They are willing to pay €20 million up-front for the defender and are hopeful of completing the deal within the coming days.
Lucas Beraldo to sign for PSG from Sao Paulo
Beraldo has received a lot of praise for his composure in 1v1 situations, and has been hailed as the surprise of the season for Sao Paulo. He is expected to be a huge talent for the future, and the move to PSG will provide him with the opportunity to prove himself at a higher level.
The 20-year-old will be completing his medical this week and then signing the contract to become a new PSG player. But his involvement in the first team might take some time considering he will have to adapt to a new continent altogether.
Lucas Beraldo also has the ability to play accurate progressive passes, and it will make him a good fit under Luis Enrique. But he will have to compete with the likes of Presnel Kimpembe, Marquinhos, Milan Skriniar and Lucas Hernandez for game time.
