## What Is *30 Rock* About?

Created by and starring Tina Fey, the series is a surreal, satirical, and lightning-fast workplace comedy loosely based on Fey’s time as head writer for *Saturday Night Live*. [whats-on-netflix](https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/news/30-rock-releasing-on-netflix-internationally/)

It follows Liz Lemon, the perpetually stressed head writer of the sketch comedy show *TGS with Tracy Jordan*, whose life is upended when a hyper-capitalist new network executive, Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin), takes over and forces her to hire unpredictable movie star Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan) alongside her narcissistic best friend Jenna Maroney (Jane Krakowski).

Every episode is packed with rapid-fire jokes, absurdist humour, and celebrity cameos. It’s the kind of show you can rewatch a dozen times and still catch new gags.

## The Revolving Door — *30 Rock*‘s Netflix History

This isn’t the show’s first Netflix rodeo. *30 Rock* previously had a year-long stint on the platform between August 2021 and August 2022, before NBCUniversal pulled it back to bolster its own platforms. [whats-on-netflix](https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/news/30-rock-releasing-on-netflix-internationally/) Now, as NBCUniversal continues opening up its licensing vault internationally — much as it has done with *Parks and Recreation* and *The Office* — the TGS crew are back for another run.

It’s part of a broader May 1st wave of classic TV returning to Netflix internationally, alongside *Rescue Me* and *The Handmaid’s Tale* also landing on the platform in select regions.

## Important Note for US Viewers

At this time, *30 Rock* is not scheduled to return to Netflix US on May 1st — the series remains on Peacock and Hulu domestically. ## FAQs

### **Q: Is all of *30 Rock* coming to Netflix, or just certain seasons?**

All seven seasons and all 138 episodes are landing on Netflix UK and select European regions on May 1, 2026 — the complete series, nothing left out.

### **Q: Why isn’t *30 Rock* returning to Netflix in the United States?**

NBCUniversal holds the US streaming rights through its own platforms Peacock and Hulu, so the licensing deal currently only covers international territories like the UK, France, and Italy.
