Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip are set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season when their respective contracts expire. The pair will be saying goodbye to the fans in the coming days, when Liverpool play their final Premier League game.
Matip has made 10 Premier League appearances this season, with 201 overall since his transfer from Schalke in 2016. The 32-year-old has been a reliable squad player over the last eight years, and his journey will now come to an end with his deal running out.

A lot was expected from Thiago when he joined the club from Bayern Munich on a free transfer after their sextuple win in 2020. However, recurring injuries significantly hindered his contribution to the first team.
Over the past four years, the Spaniard has played 98 games for the Reds, of which only one came this season, which was a five minute cameo in the Premier League.
Klopp has relied heavily on youngsters Jarell Quansah in defence and Bobby Clark, Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic in midfield to bring forth the new generation. And with the two veterans departing, the youngsters will likely get more opportunities under incoming manager Arne Slot.
