Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos has been linked with a move to Liverpool. Speaking on the player’s contract with the Europa League winners, Fabrizio Romano said that there is a release clause worth €60 million that any club can pay and sign the player if they manage to strike personal terms with the player.
Players who have abilities similar to that of Diogo Jota are in demand, especially considering the impact that the Portuguese has had during his time with the Merseyside club. The final decision will be made in the summer, when the transfer window is open.
Liverpool are not the sort of club that start working since February to sign a player. Right now, they are going through with the normal scouting and have nothing advanced planned in the pursuit for Ocampos. The Argentinian was on Dortmund’s list last summer if Sancho left for Manchester United. Jeremy Boga was the other name on the list of replacements for Sancho, from Sassuolo.
Sevilla are not happy to sell their players right now, and generally do not indulge in business in the middle of the season at all. That is even more applicable now, since they have a great squad and are in the last 16 of the Champions League. The target to qualify for next season’s Champions League by earning a top 4 finish will also be a realistic target that they will be hoping to achieve.
