Liverpool FC partners with Nike to launch its new home kit for 2020-21 season

The current champions of Premier League has finally announced their new home kit for 2020-21 season and this time Nike will be their official jersey partner rather than New Balance.

Interestingly, Liverpool and Nike has a new tagline to promote their new home kit – #TellUsNever which obviously shows the journey how the Reds have finally won the Premier League after 30 years. Liverpool FC under Klopp has been phenomenal this season and last year they won the Champions League too, so bagging a great deal with Nike seems obvious.

If you have a closer look at the home jersey then you find a similarity if you go down the history lane, as Liverpool FC describes this jersey borrows the traditional vibrant red shirt that features teal and white around its V-neck collar and sleeves – similar to the Reds’ home jerseys between 1993 and 1996.

The design seems simple and the red color is more appealing than before with Nike and Standard Chartered as their primary partners. The colors used – red, white, and teal – have been a traditional colorway used throughout LFC’s proud history and are related to the traditional crest of the club.

According to Liverpool FC, the teal also represents the city of Liverpool and is reminiscent of the shade of the Liver Bird that sits at the top of its famous Liver Building.

Scott Munson, VP, Nike Football Apparel, said: “At the start of any new partnership it is important to show maximum respect and we have done that by concentrating on the club’s core identity.

“What you have is a clean, strong design, which any fan would immediately know belongs to Liverpool.”

New kit. New season. Same motivation 👊#TellUsNever

The fonts have been designed to embody characteristics of Anfield and the surrounding area, coming in white for the outfield players’ jersey. The new Liverpool FC 2020-21 home kit can pre-ordered right away from here while the club’s unique name and number style is again available for supporters this season.
