Liverpool are planning to sign Martin Zubimendi as their first new addition under the Arne Slot era. The Merseysiders are the only club to have not made any signings this summer.

The Spaniard has a release clause worth €60 million in his contract, but that isn’t expected to be a problem to his move. As things stand, the Reds’ interest is in the preliminary stages and they are not yet close to finalising a transfer yet.

And now that they’ve gone ahead and signed Dani Olmo, it seems highly unlikely that they’ll be able to invest more money in midfield.
