Liverpool are planning to sign Martin Zubimendi as their first new addition under the Arne Slot era. The Merseysiders are the only club to have not made any signings this summer.
The Spaniard has a release clause worth €60 million in his contract, but that isn’t expected to be a problem to his move. As things stand, the Reds’ interest is in the preliminary stages and they are not yet close to finalising a transfer yet.

Zubimendi was on Barcelona’s radar for a possible transfer for a long time. The midfielder was one of the top targets for Xavi Hernandez when he was in charge of the club. However, with the change in guard and the arrival of Hansi Flick, it seems like the club is not going to pursue him after all.
