Despite the very shaky form endured by Liverpool at home, the board is backing Jürgen Klopp as the right person to lead the team into the future. The Merseyside club picked up a win against Wolves at the Molineux in their most recent encounter, which gave a boost to their chances of finishing in the top four.
They also managed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League in an impressive display over two legs against last year’s semi-finalists RB Leipzig, and now await the draw for the last eight.
There were rumours surrounding Klopp, linking him to the Germany national team job but the Reds boss squashed all links saying that he is committed to the Liverpool job. The board feels no need to make a drastic change despite their recent plunge in form and things could finally start to be looking good for the reigning Champions who seemingly have no chance of retaining their title.
Talking about transfers, Liverpool are looking to extend the contract of Fabinho, who has been even more vital to the team given that Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez are out with injuries for the remainder of the season.
The Brazilian has a contract until 2023, and is loved by Jürgen Klopp as a player. The negotiations are yet to begin and Liverpool will want to tie him down as soon as possible.
