A week following their 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium, Liverpool picked up the win against Manchester City by a 3-2 scoreline. Jurgen Klopp’s men now have their hopes of securing the quadruple high, while those of Pep Guardiola have been shattered after being defeated at Wembley.

The reigning Premier League champions were unlike their normal selves in the first half of the game. Centre-back Ibrahima Konate opened the scoring for the Reds with a remarkable header, after Andrew Robertson found his teammate in the box.

Sadio Mane pounced on Zack Steffen to double the lead for his side. The cup keeper had the ball stuck at his feet, and Mane did incredibly well to pressure the keeper into making a mistake and scoring a second goal for Liverpool.

Thiago capped off a brilliant game by supplying the Senegal international with his second goal of the game. And by half time, Liverpool went back into the tunnel with a 3-0 lead.

Manchester City did incredibly well to retaliate in the second half. Jack Grealish scored the first for City two minutes into the second half, while Bernardo Silva would net a second for his side late in the game.

But, there was not enough time for City to find a third and draw level again. And as a result, they are now out of the FA Cup only have the Champions League and Premier League left to compete for. Liverpool, on the other hand, will be facing the winner of Chelsea vs Crystal Palace in the other semi final.
