The rumours surrounding Lionel Messi’s club future have died down a little over the last few days, owing to a lack of movement. Even though his former club, Barcelona and Saudi Pro League sides have registered their interest in signing the player, he remains committed to Inter Miami and the Argentina national football team.
The record Ballon d’Or winner will finish international duty in October followed by a double header against Charlotte FC to end the season with Inter Miami. In November, he will be playing with the Albiceleste again before Inter Miami travel to Asia for friendly matches.
Lionel Messi focused on Inter Miami – no loan move expected
After the matches in Asia, Lionel Messi is expected to have a five-week vacation through December before pre-season begins in January. After a month of pre-season training with Inter Miami, the veteran will play his first full season in the MLS from February onwards.
As a result, there is no space for a loan move with the schedule for the coming months already decided.
Upon moving to the MLS, Messi had revealed that he intends to dial down the intensity of his playing career. And that is exactly what the World Cup winner is doing, away from the spotlight and scrutiny of Europe.
Amidst consistent injuries, it is easy to see how the player is managing the stress and physical demands of playing while staying fit throughout the year. And a loan move now would only upset the balance that he is trying to create on the pitch and away from it.
