Leo Messi has been the subject of speculation once again, due to his contract situation still not being resolved at Barcelona. Speaking on the topic on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano mentioned that negotiations between the parties are only going to start at the end of the season.
Barcelona are confident they can reach an agreement. The real discussion will be about money and the sporting project that will be taken up at Camp Nou. All that said, they are focused on LaLiga right now, especially considering Barcelona could go to the top of the table tonight if they beat Granada.
The report by Marcelo Bechler was confirmed to be true by Fabrizio Romano. For those unaware, PSG have offered Leo Messi a financially ‘untouchable’ contract that spans three years.
It will be Messi that decides the final outcome in the end. He will decide his future at the end of the season. Barcelona haven’t decided on their project either. Moreover, nothing advanced has been laid down for transfer targets, Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero or Erling Haaland.
The Argentinian is the top scorer in LaLiga right now and is believed to be happy with the way things are at the club. Barcelona recently lifted the Copa del Rey, beating Atletico Madrid in the finals of the Cup, and could end the season with a domestic double.
A marquee signing is also expected to be completed this summer, as a reassurance to Lionel Messi of the club’s intentions of going for the big trophies.
