Lionel Messi is expected to continue his career with the Argentina national team, and has been called up for their coming friendlies against Panama and Curacao.

The Argentina skipper had mentioned that he would not be retiring after the World Cup win, and that he wanted to play as a world champion. Soon, they will be competing in the Copa America qualifiers as not only the champions of the continent but also of the world, for the first time in their history.

The PSG star was recently named FIFA’s Best Men’s Player of 2022, while also being named the player of the tournament in the World Cup.

He has been in great form for the French club, and is one of the few players to have double digits in goals and assists in the league only.

Lionel Scaloni has signed on as the manager of the national team until 2026, which will cover the coming Copa America in 15 months and the 2026 World Cup in North America.

As a result, there is a very good chance that Lionel Messi could soon be with 200 national team caps and one of the highest international goal tallies in the history of the sport.
