Lionel Messi, in his legendary career, has once again secured a remarkable achievement by becoming the all-time club goal leader in Europe, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo. As the Portuguese legend is now in the Saudi Arabian league, playing for Al-Nassr, which means his tally while playing in Europe has got frozen. On the other hand, Lionel Messi is still among the active players in the European league and has eventually registered his 702nd goal in Europe. With this score, the Argentina legend has now left Ronaldo behind who had this record with 701 goals.

Lionel Messi’s brilliant goal against Nice

Messi’s historic goal came against Nice, this Saturday while PSG and Nice locked horns in Ligue 1. The match started with good competition between the two clubs, however, the Argentina legend didn’t stay quiet for long, and registered the historic goal in the 26th minute, and gave PSG a 1-0 lead. The match eventually ended in PSG’S half, with a score of 2-0, with Sergio Ramos scoring the second goal.

However, Nice gave a tough fight to their opposition, in terms of playing passes and performing the accuracy, and they were even ahead of PSG in terms of shots taken, which was 21:13.

Where will he go next?

Lionel Messi’s contract at PSG will be going to get over soon, with speculations arising whether he will stay at this club or go for any other club, with his former club Barcelona being among the likeliest options. He is a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, however, he is yet to secure a UEFA Champions League title since he has come to the club. He has been still active, and if he wants to go for any other option, clubs will luckily welcome him. It is to be seen whether he decides to change his destination or renew his contract.
