New Barcelona coach, former player Ronald Koeman was rumoured not to have Suarez in his plans and the club wanted the Uruguayan out of Camp Nou. Suarez, the third-highest goal scorer for Barcelona in their history was reluctant to leave and wanted to fight for his place at Barcelona. But the board has finally won as Suarez has been forced to join Atletico Madrid.

Messi posted on Instagram a farewell message for Suarez. But the main surprising part of the message was this part, “not to get kicked out like they did. But the truth is that at this point nothing surprises me.”

Luis Suarez made his Atletico debut yesterday against Granada. The veteran striker was right at the top of his game. He came on as a substitute for Diego Costa in the 71st minute.

His life at Wanda Metropolitano started off in a fascinating way. He provided his very first assist as an Atletico player on the very first minute of his debut. He then went on to score 2 goals to cap off a perfect debut.

I took Luis Suárez 1,383 seconds to score his second goal in an Atlético Madrid shirt.

It took Luis Suárez 890 seconds to score his first goal in an Atlético Madrid shirt.

This is going to be *really* fun. 👍 https://t.co/MwvrYJwFlK

It was a perfect day for the former Barcelona man. He showed that he still has what it takes to make it big in world football.

His fellow counterpart Diego Costa joked about Suarez’s arrival. He said: “It’s really good, one of us bites and the other kicks.”

Later in the day, Barcelona hosted Villarreal. The Blaugranas cruised to victory against the Yellow Submarines. 17-year-old Ansu Fati scored a brace early on in the game and Messi scored another from the spot-kick before an own goal from Pau Torres.

After successfully converting the penalty, Messi celebrated just like his old friend Luis Suarez does after scoring a goal.

Messi is clearly unhappy with how things are going on at Barcelona and how they have treated Suarez and forced him out of the club.

It seems quite unlikely that the little magician would extend his contract at the Camp Nou. This season may be the last of him in Barca colours.
