[Lionel Messi](https://technosports.co.in/2022/10/27/lionel-messi-breaks-another-crazy-pr/) has returned back to his best this season, achieving double digits in goals and assists. He was the man running the show in PSG’s win against Troyes, scoring a goal and providing an assist as the league leaders won 4-3.

Following the game, Messi has scored seven goals and provided ten assists in Ligue 1. And he has managed to achieve this feat in only twelve league games, which is a new record – even lesser than it took him to achieve the feat at Barcelona.

The least number of games that it took Messi to achieve ten league assists prior to 22/23 was 14 games in 2010/11 and 2018/19.

The Argentine has been outstanding since the start of the season, and became the first player to [score and assist ten goals across all competitions](https://twitter.com/ESPNN_FC/status/1585964581351936000?s=20&t=Trk6Azz4oaQredLij3qB6w), in Europe’s top five leagues this season.

It is safe to say that he is back among the best in the world in terms of current form – and this is great news for the Argentina national team heading into the World Cup.

This will be the seven-time Ballon d’Or award winner’s last time at a World Cup, and his country is among the favourites to win this time around – especially given the form Lionel Messi is showing right now.
