L’Equipe team of the year 2022 announced
The third Real Madrid player to feature in the L’Equipe team of the year is Luka Modric. The Croatian has been remarkable for Real Madrid despite being 37 years old, and also led his country to their second consecutive World Cup semi-final a few weeks ago.
Showing no signs of slowing down, the midfielder has made it to the list alongside his two teammates. His former midfield partner, Casemiro, has also made it to the line-up. But, he moved to Manchester United during the summer, ending a long-standing partnership with Modric and Toni Kroos at the Spanish capital.
Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe feature from PSG, while Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker have been added from Manchester City. Virgil Van Dijk is the only player from Liverpool to get the nod, despite winning the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and making it to the finals of the Champions League.
Similarly, Theo Hernandez is the only AC Milan player to be named, as the Rossoneri claimed the 21/22 Serie A title.
