The Italian centre-back left Juventus at the start of the 23/24 season and joined Union Berlin. However, he left them during the January transfer window and made the move to Fenerbahce, for whom he played 13 games across all competitions.
He made 502 appearances for the Bianconeri, and won the Serie A title eight times with them, alongside the Coppa Italia four times. Alongside Giorgio Chiellini, he defined a dominant era for Juventus in Italy. And in 2021, he helped Italy win the Euros at the Wembley Stadium.
After a lengthy and successful career spanning 20 years, Bonucci’s retirement is another marker of the end of an era.
