The Leo Messi transfer saga was the talk of the summer, with the Argentine superstar being linked with a move away for sure. He had handed in a transfer request via burofax to seal a move away from the club.

La Pulga sat down with Goal to break the silence regarding his situation at Barcelona and acknowledged wanting to leave the club. He also name-dropped Josep Maria Bartomeu, who has since resigned as the President of Barcelona.

Messi sat down for another interview with Evole, which is supposed to be released on Sunday, the 27th of December.

Here is what the player had to say in a preview that has been doing the rounds around the internet:

“I had a very bad time, because of the end of the season and because of what happened in the summer. I dragged it at the beginning, but now I feel good, eager, and excited.”

Messi reveals the entire truth to Goal of his transfer decision away from Barcelona
via Goal

“I know the club is going through a difficult time, at the team and club level, but I am looking forward to it.”

While it does not confirm that Messi will end up staying at Barcelona, it does offer some clarity to the entire situation and will most likely reveal some details regarding Messi’s future, according to the man himself.

While Barcelona were facing a drop in the form with the start of the season, they have managed to find their rhythm and currently sit 5th in La Liga with 21 points, behind Villareal with 25.

Messi himself experienced a drop in form at the beginning of the season but has managed to start looking like himself again, as of late. Clubs of the stature of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain continue to be linked with a move for Messi. However, only time will tell what the future holds for the Barcelona captain.
