Recently, Lenovo has shown the IdeaPad Slim 7 GTX’s specs on its US website. This notebook, unlike the initial one launched this year with Ryzen 7 4700U, has the latest 6-core 10th Gen Intel Comet-Lake Core i7-10750H chip. The Intel chip has a 2.60GHz base clock speed and up to 5.0GHz boost clock speed and shall give comparable performance to the Ryzen 7 4700U but consuming more power.

Almost everything apart from the hardware remains the same with the same design and looks along with same backlit keyboard, Dolby speakers, I/O with very minor upgrades. It features 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS display with 300 nits peak brightness and comes with 16GB DDR4 2933MHz RAM and 512 GB PCIe SSD.

This 15.6-inch model has a GTX card as opposed to AMD’s integrated graphics. Any excitement in this spec can be curbed, as Lenovo has equipped 4GB of old NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics. Nonetheless, this makes for a slightly more gamer-y than an average IdeaPad, but one would hardly realize it from its sleek look and Slate Gray chassis.

The laptop also includes more up-to-date specs like Wi-Fi 6, a brighter screen, Alexa voice assistant and a bigger 70Wh battery with Rapid Charge that promises up to 12 hours battery life. For ports, there’s one Type C port which supports the USB 3.2 Gen 2, Thunderbolt, Power Delivery and DisplayPort standards.

Consequently, the new IdeaPad Slim 7 GTX can be the ideal laptop for all those that need an ultrabook that may cover a broad range of applications right now with a nod to future-proofing in the longer term. Sadly, Lenovo hasn’t dropped hints about the cost, however, it shall cost more than its AMD brother which costs $899.99.
