The portable and light Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 laptop with the latest AMD Ryzen 5000U mobile processors is now available in India for some time now but finally, prices have become more affordable. Originally launched at ₹ 67,397, the price never came below Rs.68-69k and even reached over Rs.70k as it was sold by other sellers.

Now that Amazon’s trusted Appario Seller is back selling the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 with the latest 8 cores, 16 threaded Ryzen 7 5700U paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD. For the price, this is a great laptop with good performance, decent screen and good battery life.

It features 14-inch Full HD display (1920×1080) with anti-glare technology & IPS Panel Switching. Also, the screen is somewhat bright enough up to 300 nits; also, if you notice, the laptop has very narrow bezels making more room for the screen in small chassis. The laptop also comes with a 512 GB Samsung NVMe SSD, which should give good read and write speeds.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700U sports 8 Zen 2 cores and 16 threads, comes with a base clock speed of 1.8 GHz and turbo up to 4.3 GHz across all 8 cores. It is a true monster consuming just 15W TDP, and it features 12MB total cache and has Vega 8 iGPU with 1900 MHz frequency that should help during professional work and low-to-medium end gaming.

The Lenovo Ideapad 5 comes with Windows 10 Home pre-installed and MS Office Home and Student 2019. It weighs only 1.66 Kg, making it ideal for carrying anywhere without sacrificing performance and battery.

Yes, it has good battery life. In fact, the new Ryzen APUs draw less power than Intel ones, while Lenovo promises up to 11 hours; even if you get around 8-9 hours of usage, then it’s more than enough.

Much like other laptops, it has Bluetooth 5 support, and though the Amazon specs say WiFi 5, as the last-gen was also equipped with Wi-Fi 6, this one too shall be. The slim aluminium case of the IdeaPad Slim 5 gives it a modern feel and comes in a Graphite Gray colour.
