After a decade of near-misses, Akhil Akkineni has something to actually celebrate. His action drama *[Lenin](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5256640/)*, co-starring Bhagyashree Borse, has wrapped its opening week at the Indian box office with a steady, crowd-approved run — and it’s officially his first Clean Hit in an 11-year career.

## Lenin: The First Week, Day By Day

*Lenin* opened strong and settled into a healthy weekday hold, a pattern trade watchers love to see because it signals genuine word-of-mouth rather than a one-day spike.

| Day | Collection |
| --- | --- |
| Day 1 | Rs. 7.50 crore |
| Day 2 | Rs. 9.25 crore |
| Day 3 | Rs. 10.75 crore |
| Day 4 | Rs. 4.75 crore |
| Day 5 | Rs. 4.00 crore |
| Day 6 | Rs. 3.00 crore |
| Day 7 | Rs. 2.50 crore |
| **Total** | **Rs. 41.75 crore** |

## Where The Money Came From

Unsurprisingly, *Lenin* found its biggest audience at home. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone contributed roughly Rs. 36.75 crore, split across the Nizam, Andhra, and Ceded circuits. Karnataka added another Rs. 4 crore, while the rest of India chipped in close to Rs. 1 crore — a reminder of how heavily Telugu action dramas still lean on their core markets before expanding.

## Why It Matters For Akhil

Akhil made his lead debut back in 2015, and while films like *Most Eligible Bachelor* brought commercial success, a proper Clean Hit had eluded him — until now. Akhil comes from Telugu cinema’s storied Akkineni family, a lineage you can read more about on Wikipedia’s page on the actor, and this result marks a genuine turning point in his run as a leading man.

Trade estimates now peg *Lenin* to comfortably cross the Rs. 50 crore mark by the end of its second weekend, with its real test coming in how it holds through weekday three.
