Chelsea defeated Leicester City 3-0 at the King Power Stadium in dominant fashion. The Blues now have five clean sheets away from home, and have the most in the Premier League.
Although they are far from being the most entertaining side in the league, their methods are proving to be one of the most effective. Thomas Tuchel’s team not only have the ability to be compact defensively, but also score the goals needed to win the games.
The breakthrough was achieved by Antonio Rudiger, who headed home from a set piece situation. Leicester City have now conceded the most goals from a set piece situation in the Premier League.
Their lead was doubled up right before the half-hour mark with N’Golo Kante netting from the edge of the box, after dribbling almost unmarked into the opposition territory.
The final goal of the game was scored by the returning Christian Pulisic, who was assisted by Hakim Ziyech. The American arrived in the box at the right time to finish the delivery from close range.
Pulisic had the chance to double his goal tally, but his rebound effort was flagged for offside. The same would be the case for former Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell, who would set up Pulisic for another disallowed goal.
Lastly, Reece James was also denied a goal by offside in the final minutes of the game. The Blues kept up the pressure till the final minutes and Leicester were defeated in the game as well as in spirit as they dropped all three points at home.
