Wolves winger Adama Traore is attracting interest from Leeds United, and the Yorkshire club could be pushing for a move during the winter transfer window.

Teams of the stature of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool were once in pursuit of the Spaniard. However, his recent performances have possibly saved the bigger names a lot of cash, since Wolves were demanding a fee in the region of £70-80 million at the very least.

Traore has started 7 games and has been benched in just as many in the 20/21 campaign so far. He has failed to register a single goal contribution and has been shaky in his performances, often being prone to losing the ball.

Leeds United are reportedly willing to negotiate a cut-price deal for the winger since the management at the Molineux is unhappy that the winger has not signed a new contract yet. His current deal runs out in 2023, but the club is still pushing him to sign an extension to secure his services for the long run.

“Leeds could soon have another £50m pumped into the club as the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers seek closer ties, and are prepared to increase their existing 10% stake to 25%.”

“The owners of the 49ers, having entered into a collaborative partnership with Leeds in 2018 for their initial stake, have been eyeing a controlling stake since the summer when 90min revealed before anybody else that there was interest in buying out current owner Andrea Radrizzani.” – 90min

The price quoted for Traore is rumoured to be around the £40 million mark. The move to Leeds would also see the player secure regular game time, which is something that he has found hard to come by this season.

Leeds’ director of football, Victor Orta is a known admirer of the Wolves winger. And so is Marcelo Bielsa, who has been the mastermind behind the amazing and unique brand of football that the newly promoted club has brought to the Premier League.
