## A Story of Nine Warriors

Set during the early [Joseon dynasty](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseon), “Nambeol” follows nine warriors of varying skill and social rank as they travel to Tsushima Island to rescue captives abducted by Japanese pirates. Lee Byung Hun leads the group as Im Eok, while Go Youn Jung plays the strong-willed Ae Ryeong.

Lee Do Hyun steps into the role of **Bo Gyeong**, a highly skilled fighter and Im Eok’s loyal right-hand man who leads the punitive force at the story’s front line. The character is expected to bring both intense action sequences and strong camaraderie, giving Lee Do Hyun a layered, multidimensional role to work with.

## A Reunion Behind the Camera

This isn’t the first time Lee Do Hyun and director Lee Mo Gae have worked together — the two previously collaborated on *Exhuma*, where Lee Mo Gae served as cinematographer. That prior working relationship is reportedly a key factor behind Lee Do Hyun’s casting in this directorial debut project.

“Nambeol” is currently in pre-production, with filming expected to begin in the second half of 2026.
