Leandro Trossard became the first Premier League player to achieve a hat-trick of assists in the first half of an away game. The Belgian only just returned from injury, but has recorded five assists in his last four games.
The Belgian was absolutely unplayable against Fulham, with the defenders being absolutely outsmarted by his two-footedness. He played alongside Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka as part of the front three and set up the Brazilian alongside Gabriel Magalhaes and Martin Odegaard.
Leandro Trossard makes Arsenal history with hat-trick of assists vs Fulham
Trossard is the first Arsenal player to provide three assists in a game since Henrikh Mkhitaryan in 2018 against Everton. For a January signing under €30 million, he is proving to be an absolute bargain.
He isn’t the first-choice for Mikel Arteta out wide, but is really pushing for a starting spot after his performances. Arsenal have built a very impressive squad this season, and Leandro Trossard has been a brilliant addition for the team.
It could be his contributions that end up winning them the league title this year, since they are already five points clear of Manchester City.
Trossard was arguably the best player for Brighton when he was still with them. But a falling out with Roberto De Zerbi led to his departure. And what an investment he is proving to be for Mikel Arteta’s side.
