Roma have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Leandro Paredes on a permanent transfer. The midfielder will be returning to Serie A after spending the 22/23 season on loan with Juventus.
The Bianconeri had the option to make his loan move permanent as well, but they decided to not activate the clause due to his poor performances with them. And now, he has reached an agreement with the Giallorossi to join them permanently and play under Jose Mourinho.
Roma sign Leandro Paredes on permanent deal from PSG
The World Cup winner has been deemed surplus to requirements by Luis Enrique, with the arrival of Manuel Ugarte this summer and the presence of Carlos Soler, Marco Verratti, Vitinhs, Danilo and Fabian Ruiz.
Having struggled to perform under Max Allegri, it will be interesting to see how Paredes fares under Mourinho. He will be competing with former PSG teammate Renato Sanches, Houssem Aouar and more for a starting spot.
While Sanches has been signed on a loan deal, Leandro Paredes has agreed a permanent contract with the Giallorossi. He has signed a two-year deal with the club, with the option for a third year until 2026.
There was interest from Turkish club Galatasaray for the player as well. But, he has decided to stay in Europe and play for Roma in the coming season.
