The Samsung Galaxy Watch lineup is set to expand in the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10. In addition to the awaited introduction of the Galaxy Watch 7 series, we expect to see a newcomer in the lineup: the Galaxy Watch FE, the renders of the upcoming model of which have appeared online recently.
The Upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch FE
Renderings shared by Sudhanshu Ambhore on X showcase the Galaxy Watch FE in three color variants: black, pink, and blue. Every variant has a different frame color – the black variant has a black frame, the pink one has a rose gold frame, and the blue one has a silver frame. The design also feels a little more youthful compared to the minimalist aesthetic of the usual Galaxy Watches, because of the blue and orange elements placed on its straps.
It seems the Galaxy Watch FE has a button mechanism for quick-release straps akin to what is used on the Galaxy Watch 6 series with leaked renders of the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. The display is also surrounded by chunky bezels in a manner that is reminiscent of 2021’s Galaxy Watch 4 series, which has led some to suggest this is just the 2021 Galaxy Watch 4 model rebranded as the Galaxy Watch FE.
The Galaxy Watch FE is likely to be positioned as a cheaper smartwatch and should be available in South Korea, the US, and other markets. Official support pages for a Samsung Galaxy Watch bearing the model number SM-R861 have recently gone live on Samsung’s UK and Latin America websites, indicating an imminent launch. This model number was previously associated with the Galaxy Watch FE on the TDRA website.
In related news, Samsung has announced that Galaxy Watch devices running Wear OS will receive the One UI 6 Watch beta later this month. This update promises to integrate Galaxy AI with Samsung Health, offering users more comprehensive health insights and motivational encouragement to enhance their daily wellness routines.
