Lava Shark Launched in India With 50MP Camera, ₹6,999 Price Tag

Lava Shark made its debut in India on March 25 as an entry-level smartphone featuring a 50MP AI-enhanced primary rear camera. The device is powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset paired with up to 8GB of dynamic RAM and comes with Android 14 out of the box. It packs a 5,000mAh battery, AI imaging algorithms, as well as a side-mounted fingerprint reader and face unlock capabilities. The device is broken and will soon be offline in retail.

Lava has confirmed that the Lava Shark will cost ₹6,999 in India for the lone 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. A 1-year warranty and free Service at Home are also included. It is available through Lava’s retail outlets and comes in Stealth Black and Titanium Gold color variants. Lava Shark features a 6.7-inch HD+ (720 x 1,612 pixels) display with 120Hz refresh rate and 269ppi pixel density. It is powered by an octa-core Unisoc T606 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.

Users can virtually extend the RAM: an extra up to 4GB, while storage expansion is supported up to 256GB. The smartphone comes paired with Android 14. On the back, the phone has a 50MP main camera with AI assistance and an LED flash and an 8MP selfie snapper on the front. It has various imaging modes like AI Mode, Portrait, Pro Mode, and HDR support. A 5,000mAh battery fuels the Lava Shark, supporting 18W wired charging via a USB Type-C port.

It comes with a 10W charger in the box and is claimed to deliver up to 45 hours of talk time, with a full charge taking approximately 158 minutes. Connectivity features include dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac.
