Homegrown smartphone brand Lava is ready to debut its recent smartwatch, the Lava Prowatch, in India this month. Announcing the launch date and revealing snippets of the device’s design, Lava attempted to generate excitement about the wearable’s entrance into the market, particularly following their release of the Befit smart band in 2021.
The Upcoming Lava Prowatch
Lava has scheduled the smartwatch for an April 23rd debut at 11:00 AM IST in a tweet, concealing further information in anticipation of the event nexus. A scratch and impact-resistant display, metal crown, and button, along with a metal design were hinted at in a tweet, indicating promise and a solid form factor for the Prowatch.
Aside from its sturdy shell, the Lava Prowatch is expected to have all-encompassing health tracking, measuring various activities and one’s heart rate. Lava says that it will be more accurate than other options in the market, including smartbands, addressing consumers concerned with their health. The smartwatch is also expected to have replaceable straps, making more room for one to give it a personal touch. However, the OS is still speculated and can be replaced by Google’s Wear OS, which makes watches install apps directly.
Pricing reports show that Lava wants to make Prowatch prices very competitive and it could be around 4,000 INR. This makes a lot of sense since Lava has always stated that it wants to bring accessibility to most people, especially its targeted market. It is worth noting that Lava specializes in design strength and durability, something that the CMR report indicated as a need for more than half of users.
In response, the Lava Prowatch promises to introduce the first Gorilla Glass 3 Protection in its segment, ensuring durability while delivering top-notch fitness tracking capabilities. As the anticipation builds for its upcoming release, Lava seeks to carve a niche for itself in the competitive smartwatch market, leveraging its reputation for reliability and innovation in the Indian tech landscape.
