## What’s New Over the Lava Bold 5G

The predecessor ran the Dimensity 6300 and featured a curved AMOLED panel. The Bold 2 upgrades to the **Dimensity 7060** — a meaningful step up that pushes AnTuTu past 500,000 — and switches to a **flat 2.5D display**, which is actually a practical improvement. Curved screens look premium but invite accidental touches; a flat panel with thin bezels is simply better for daily use at this price.

The Sony IMX752 main sensor is a real highlight for this segment — Sony sensors at ₹12,999 aren’t common, and it should handle daylight photography well. The in-display fingerprint scanner returns, and **Android 15 ships clean** — no bloatware, no ads, no pre-loaded junk apps. Lava has made that a consistent promise across its recent lineup, and it matters when every other brand in this tier loads devices with sponsored apps.

## Should You Buy the Lava Bold 2 5G?

**Yes, if** you’re looking for the best display and clean software experience under ₹13,000. The 120Hz AMOLED panel, Sony camera sensor, IP64 rating, and bloatware-free Android 15 are a strong combination at this price — especially with **free doorstep service** included, which is genuinely rare in this segment.

**Think twice if** gaming performance is your priority — the Dimensity 7060 is capable but trails newer chips like the Dimensity 7025 or Helio G99 in sustained gaming benchmarks. And with a single 6GB+128GB variant and no expandable storage option, heavy users may find 128GB limiting over two years.

**The competition to consider:** The Redmi 14 5G and realme Narzo 70 Pro 5G sit in a similar price band. Neither matches the Bold 2’s AMOLED + Sony sensor combination, but both offer stronger brand recall and more update track records. If Lava can deliver on its software update promise, the Bold 2 5G is arguably the best-specced Indian-brand phone under ₹13,000 right now.
