Lando Norris has won his first-ever F1 race, after finishing first in the Miami Grand Prix 2024. The McLaren driver finished ahead of Max Verstappen, who came second in the race followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.
Max Verstappen’s pit stop gave Norris the opportunity to take the lead, and he never let up. In the end, he finished seven seconds ahead of the defending world champion, who was unable to make it three in a row at Miami, having won the 2022 and 2023 editions.

The McLaren driver joined the team in 2014, and has set the record for the most podium finishes without winning a race at 15. In his 110th race as a Formula 1 driver, he gave McLaren their first race win since Monza in 2021, and in the process, broke an unwanted streak for himself and his team.
Verstappen remains at the top of the Driver’s Championship standings, however, with 136 points. Norris is now fourth in the standings after his win, with 83 points. Between the two are Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc, with 103 and 98 points respectively.
