Among the entries were also significant titles like Tamil film Maharaja, Telugu blockbusters Kalki 2898 AD and Hanu-Man, and Hindi films Swatantraya Veer Savarkar and Article 370. This year’s selection process was overseen by a 13-member panel chaired by Assamese director Jahnu Barua, who unanimously chose Laapataa Ladies to represent India on the global stage.
