Reports recently emerged of [La Liga](https://technosports.co.in/new-evidence-emerges-in-barcelona-negreira-case/) being at risk of losing two of their main sponsors – CVC and DAZN, by breaking their contracts. Spanish publication El Espanol came forth with the report, suggesting that the league is on the verge of financial collapse.

However, La Liga presented a statement denying either company was looking to break their contract. They also attacked El Nacional for their lack of professionalism, and criticised the fact that no one reached out to cross check the information with the league body.

## La Liga denies rumours of sponsors leaving

The report presented by El Nacional suggested that the reason sponsors were looking to break away was a failure to guarantee participation from [Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid](https://twitter.com/relevo/status/1633070628272996355?s=20) amidst reports of the European Super League emerging.

Here is the statement presented by La Liga in full:

“It is surprising that, despite not having confirmation from DAZN and CVC, Jorge Calabres and El Espanol have published this false news, citing unspecified “sources in the sector”.

“It is also worrying that neither the aforementioned journalist nor any other person from El Espanol has contacted LaLiga to verify the information, in yet another lack of journalistic rigour and professionalism.

“The latter is not surprising, given the obvious campaign of personal attack that El Espanol and Jorge Calabres are in against LaLiga and its president, Javier Tebas, through continuous false, manipulated or misrepresented publications in recent months.

“We will take legal action against those responsible for this publication, and against all those who disseminate these falsehoods, in defence of our interests and those of the clubs.”
