After Kylian Mbappe’s last home game for PSG ended in defeat, the attention now turns to where he will be playing next season. All signs point to a move to Real Madrid, but after the failed transfer in 2022, all the Madridistas will be a little sceptic over the issue until they see the France captain holding up the white shirt.
Several Premier League clubs were interested in signing the player, but Mbappe was never interested in taking things further with them. Saudi Arabian clubs were also keen on signing the player last summer, but PSG turned down a €200 million offer from them to keep the player.
Kylian Mbappe transfer: Is it really a free transfer?

Mbappe told PSG well in advance that he would not be extending his contract with the club any further. As a result, he didn’t take the €80 million loyalty bonus he was due to receive and also saved the club around €120 million signing on payments.
Therefore, PSG will actually be saving around €200 million which they can reinvest in around 4-5 new signings.
Even Real Madrid will be paying a significant signing-on bonus to Kylian Mbappe, although his wages will not be as high as initially offered two years ago. It will be in the same region as Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr, around €15 million net per season.
