Real Madrid has been following French World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe for a long time. Last summer they offered a huge sum of money to PSG for signing Mbappe but PSG turned them down. However, it was reported that Mbappe was also interested in joining Real Madrid and he won’t extend his deal with PSG after 2022 and join the Spanish giants in the summer of 2022.
It was almost sure that Kylian Mbappe would join Real Madrid this summer as the club and the player already had an agreement. Madrid prioritised the signing of Mbappe and even let the Haaland deal fall through as he signed for Manchester City.
Here We Go: Kylian Mbappe rejects Real Madrid and stays at PSG
Things took an unexpected turn today as transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has given a “Here We Go” to Kylian Mbappe signing a contract extension with PSG and staying in Paris.
PSG tried their best to change Mbappe’s decision to leave them and join Real Madrid. They even went to the extent of offering him the role to become the owner of their sporting project.
This clause means that Mbappe would have a say on some of the most important things like which players or coaches to sign. He would also get a huge signing fee and almost 4 million euros per month.
Mbappe has finally decided to stay at PSG but this decision will hurt Real Madrid, especially their president Florentino Perez very much. They have tried to sign Mbappe two times and almost had an agreement with him for this summer. It won’t go down well with Real Madrid and maybe the doors will forever be closed for him.
On the other hand, PSG would be really glad to be successful in keeping him at the club alongside Neymar and Messi and would have another go at the UEFA Champions League title next season.
