Paris Saint-Germain are still optimistic about renewing Kylian Mbappe’s contract before it runs out in the summer. The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a transfer to Real Madrid when the season is over, and he is a free agent.
The Parisians have tried offering the youngster a huge contract to secure his future at the club, but to no avail. And now, they are willing to offer him the captain’s armband in hopes of getting him to renew beyond the current season.
Kylian Mbappe being offered captain’s role at PSG
With Marquinhos facing strong criticism for his display against Real Madrid in the Champions League which led to the team’s exit, Mbappe could be given the role next season if he pens a new deal.
According to L’Equipe, Mbappe’s inner circle are now trying to convince him to renew with the Ligue 1 club. However, he is yet to make a final decision about his future.
The player has been very vocal about his desire to play for Real Madrid one day. And he could make it happen for free in the summer. Los Blancos have offered him a €25 million per season contract in hopes of finalising the dream transfer.
However, should Kylian Mbappe turn away from Real Madrid now, it would be impossible to make the deal happen anytime soon. It would also affect Real Madrid’s transfer plans very strongly since they are planning to make him the biggest acquisition of the summer.
