Kylian Mbappe is set to be announced as a new Real Madrid player in the coming week, after completing all the formalities related to his transfer. The striker left PSG upon the expiry of his contract, and will be joining Madrid as a free agent, finally completing a transfer years in the making.
The Frenchman will likely be signing a five-year contract until 2029, and his earnings are expected to be at par with the other best-paid players in the team, such as Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham. He will be paid a signing-on bonus, but it will be significantly less than what was offered to him back in 2022.

Real Madrid made an offer worth €200 million to sign Mbappe from PSG two years ago. While the deal seemed done at the time, Mbappe changed his mind and personally called Florentino Perez to tell him that he would not be able to make the move.
He ended up extending his contract with PSG for two years, with the option for one more year. However, the France international didn’t trigger the option last summer, causing a fallout with the hierarchy. And after a tumultuous saga that has gone on for years, Madrid will finally announce his arrival next week, once the heat around their 15th Champions League title has settled down a little bit.
The player decided his future in February, which could have contributed to PSG not giving him the bonus he was set to receive. After reportedly not being paid his salary for April as well, the player and his former club are rumoured to be involved in a legal battle.
